A part of what connects our people is our hair, some tribes it resembles a story (from birth, to today, some tribes it's a part of their soul, but in all tribes it has meaning. However, just because a native doesn't have long hair doesn't mean they are disconnected (as mentioned it's a part of what connects us). This connection enables our children to explore other tribes, it's the ice breaker. To conclude, this world shows unity by holding hands, in Indian Country we show unity with dance, song, prayer, ceremony, and braiding hair.
